The opportunity We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate/2nd year trainee to join our Technology Risk – Assurance team with a specialised focus on IT external audits. This role is pivotal in delivering high‑quality IT audit services in support of financial audits for both public and private sector clients. Your key responsibilities Perform ITGC and automated control testing. Assist in technology risk assessments, including cybersecurity and governance reviews. Document findings and provide recommendations for control improvements. Collaborate with financial audit teams to integrate IT and technology risk insights into the overall audit strategy. Oversee the evaluation of IT general controls (ITGCs), application controls, and automated business process controls. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, cybersecurity risks and regulatory changes impacting IT audit practices. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex information systems and apply it to client situations. Contribute to client discussions. Understand EY and its service lines and actively assess what the firm can deliver to bring value to clients. To qualify for the role you must have Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, or a related field. Professional qualification in progress or completed (e.g., CISA, CA(SA), or equivalent). Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT audit. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Experience in IT audit methodologies relating to financial statement audits as well as internal IT audits. Proven experience in auditing ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics). Experience working in Big 4 firms. Proven ability to teach and develop junior staff, increasing their knowledge base related to IT auditing. A strong understanding of the requirements and equivalent legislation as it relates to IT controls. Excellent teamwork, written and verbal communication skills. Highly motivated, committed self‑starter. Demonstrated integrity within a professional environment. Ideally, you’ll also have A high level of motivation, strong work ethic and self‑starting attitude.
