The Senior Legal Counsel is expected to negotiate various project documents for G7’s projects and oversee the implementation thereof (together with the wider project team) to ensure the timeous and quality construction and operations of G7’s projects in accordance with legal obligations and G7’s standards. The Senior Legal Counsel must lead legal drafting, and review and assist negotiating major energy project related contracts (including commercial agreements, offtake agreements or PPAs, EPC, split scope contracts and equipment supply agreements, O&M agreements, ancillary property agreements as well as other ancillary agreements). Other responsibilities include the identification, consultation with, and management of external service providers and subject matter experts, drafting of legal responses to tenders or due diligence processes and coordination of all necessary supporting documents. Collaboration, communication, stakeholder management and excellent relationship building are key competencies. Role-Specific Responsibilities Contract Drafting & Negotiation: Legal lead drafting, reviewing, and negotiating major contracts - including, Property Agreements Ancillary agreements Draft legal responses to tenders or due diligence processes and coordination of all necessary supporting documents. Stakeholder Management Identification, and management of external legal advisors required for the above (where additional support is required by the sponsor) Coordination and communication with Lender’s counsel and other advisors Procurement of external legal opinions where required, such as in support of the financial close process.
