Position Summary: We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically capable Triage Specialist to serve as the first line of response within our 24×7 Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) environment. This role is critical in ensuring that all incoming security alerts, incidents, and events are rapidly assessed, prioritised, and routed appropriately to maintain the integrity and responsiveness of our security operations. The Triage Specialist is responsible for the initial analysis and classification of security events across multiple platforms, applying defined playbooks, threat intelligence, and operational procedures to determine severity, impact, and required escalation paths. This role requires strong analytical thinking, sound judgement under pressure, and the ability to balance speed with accuracy in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment. In this role, the Triage Specialist will embody the company values of Trust , Discipline , and Execution by maintaining high standards of accuracy and accountability in incident handling, adhering strictly to operational processes and SLAs, and ensuring consistent, timely routing of incidents to support effective threat detection and response across the customer base. Key Responsibilities Analyse and evaluate incoming security incidents to determine their severity and prioritize them accordingly. Assign incidents to the Incident Handling Engineer or escalation paths for resolution. Communicate with stakeholders and management about the status of security incidents, providing regular updates and recommendations for remediation. Identify trends and patterns in security incidents, providing input into risk assessments and security strategies. Collaborate with other IT professionals to identify and implement process improvements to enhance the effectiveness of the triage process. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to security incidents, including details of the incident, actions taken, and resolution. Ensure that customer SLA’s are met. Work closely with Incident Handling, SOC Analysts and relevant teams to ensure seamless delivery. Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or related discipline or a diploma in a relevant field. 1 - 3 years’ experience in similar role. Relevant entry-level certifications including CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+ and other relevant cybersecurity certifications (Non-negotiable) Proven experience in an MSSP, SOC, or managed services environment.
