Job Fair Protective Service Officer – June 2-3, 2026 • 8 AM – 4 PM Walden Security is recruiting experienced Protective Service Officers (PSOs) for the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) facilities in the Washington, DC metro area. The job fair will be held at our Fairfax, VA office. Bring copies of the documents listed below: Resume Driver’s License Second form of ID Post Certificate or Academy Certificate from law enforcement High school diploma or college degree DD214 (if applicable) Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Control access to DOJ facilities by screening visitors, personnel, and vehicles using metal detectors, x‑ray machines, and visual inspection protocols. Conduct patrols and maintain a visible security presence to deter unauthorized activity. Respond immediately to alarms, emergencies, and suspicious behavior; detain individuals as necessary until law enforcement arrives. Monitor building activity, maintain accurate logbooks, reports, and incident documentation. Enforce DOJ rules, protect federal employees and property, assist in evacuation or lockdown procedures during emergencies. Administer first aid, AED, CPR, and NARCAN when appropriate. Follow strict weapons‑handling protocols, post orders, and use‑of‑force guidelines. Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 18 months of prior law‑enforcement experience; special police or armed security experience cannot be used toward this requirement. Graduate of a U.S. civilian or military law‑enforcement academy, or a federal/state corrections academy with firearms certification. Language Skills Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking) and able to write detailed incident reports. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Current certification in First Aid, CPR, AED, Bloodborne Pathogens, and NARCAN from ARC or AHA. Other Qualifications U.S. citizen; 21 years of age or older. Eligible for deputation under the U.S. Marshals Service Special Deputation Program. Must pass a DOJ physical exam and agility test annually. Must pass and maintain DOJ firearms qualification every six months. Must meet DOJ standards for physical fitness, vision, hearing, and medical conditions as outlined in the Statement of Work. Must maintain a professional appearance and wear full uniform, including Level IIIA ballistic vest and all required duty gear, at all times while on duty.
