Overview Giltedge Africa, a privately owned South African company, is an award-winning, luxury inbound tour operator with an in-depth knowledge of Southern Africa, East Africa, and the magnificent Indian Ocean islands. We are currently seeking Junior Finance professionals to join our team at our head office in Cape Town or remotely (if you meet the required skills and experience). We are looking for candidates who are passionate about numbers, detail-oriented, and have a solid understanding of finance within the travel industry. Applicants should be able to work well under pressure, possess excellent communication skills, and have the ability to multitask. Accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills are essential. A financial qualification and travel industry experience are mandatory. Key Requirements Key Requirements (please do not apply if you do not meet these requirements): Relevant financial qualification (degree or diploma in finance, accounting, or equivalent). 1–2 years of experience in a finance role, preferably within the travel or hospitality industry. Knowledge of financial systems and software (e.g., Xero, Pastel, Tourplan, or similar). Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with travel operations and finance processes (e.g., reconciling supplier payments, managing deposits, preparing invoices). Duties and Responsibilities Managing financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable. Reconciling supplier invoices and payments. Assisting with month-end financial processes and reporting. Processing client invoices and ensuring timely follow-ups on outstanding payments. Managing expense claims and credit card reconciliations. Assisting with financial audits and maintaining compliance with company policies. Supporting the finance team with general administrative tasks. Collaborating with the operations team to ensure accurate financial data for client itineraries and bookings. Key Performance Areas Meeting deadlines for financial reporting and reconciliations. Ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in all financial transactions. Delivering efficient support to the finance and operations teams.
