About the Opportunity Our client, a contemporary city-centre aparthotel in Cape Town , is seeking a highly skilled and guest-focused Restaurant Manager to lead their in-house dining operation. The Role As Restaurant Manager, you will take full responsibility for the daily running of the restaurant within the aparthotel. You will lead the front-of-house team, ensure consistent service standards, and drive an outstanding guest experience aligned with a modern hospitality brand. This is a hands-on leadership role , requiring strong floor presence and the ability to manage both service and operations effectively. Key Responsibilities Restaurant Operations & Guest Experience Oversee all daily restaurant operations including breakfast, lunch, and dinner service Ensure smooth service flow and exceptional guest experiences at all times Maintain high standards of food and beverage presentation, cleanliness, and ambience Manage guest feedback and resolve issues promptly and professionally Collaborate closely with kitchen and hotel teams for seamless operations Team Leadership Lead, train, and motivate the front-of-house team Manage staff scheduling, rosters, and performance Conduct training to ensure consistent service standards Foster a positive, professional, and service-driven team culture Lead by example with a hands-on management approach Financial & Operational Management Monitor daily sales, service efficiency, and restaurant performance Manage labour costs and operational expenses Oversee stock control, ordering, and wastage management Support budgeting and reporting processes Ensure profitability while maintaining service excellence Compliance & Standards Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations Maintain operational SOPs and brand standards Coordinate with hotel management and suppliers where required Requirements Minimum 3–5 years' experience as a Restaurant Manager or senior restaurant leadership role Experience in hotel, aparthotel, or high-volume restaurant environments preferred Strong leadership and people management skills Excellent guest service and communication abilities Solid understanding of restaurant operations and financial controls Ability to work in a fast-paced, city-centre hospitality environment Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays #J-18808-Ljbffr
