Port Elizabeth, South Africa Our client is seeking an experienced Distribution Manager to join the Port Elizabeth team. Responsibilities Ensure that stock holding is managed as per the policy Monitor stock turns, stock holding costs and ABC Classification Introduce management controls to mitigate stock variances / losses Manage product classification and storage locations accordingly Manage stock rotation and traceability Manage warehousing / inventory related data, reports and KPI’s Managing inventory levels and ensuring accurate stock counts Oversee the receiving, storage, and organizing of goods in the warehouse Monitor inventory levels, identify discrepancies, and implement measures to prevent stockouts or excess inventory Coordinate shipments and ensure timely deliveries Work closely with Logistics and Demand Planners, Transport Services and Maintenance Providers, Branch Admin Controller and other stakeholders to schedule and track shipments Ensure that all necessary documentation, such as shipping labels and customs forms, are properly prepared Managing the Despatch Teams: Order Pickers, MHE Operators, Cage Checkers, Debriefing Clerk and Supervising personnel and providing guidance, support and required training Monitoring and analysing distribution performance of each delivery route, region and delivery crew/truck to identify areas for improvement and cost containment/reduction Ensuring compliance with OHS Act, LRA, Company Policies/Procures and Road Traffic Act, AARTO Implementing measures to enhance distribution efficiency, costs and resource utilization Plan, sequence and schedule: order picking, stock replenishment, and customer deliveries Coordinating transportation and shipment activities Collect, analyze performance data to improve the despatch processes Submit regular monthly Operational Performance Reports to the HOD Supply Chain Address any distribution-related issues or delay Deploy mitigating controls, i.e. GEMBA Walk, to ensure all Food Safety Risks are identified and reported Maintain a register of non-conformances and institute the appropriate corrective actions to maintain a food safe environment across all Despatch Business Processes Requirements Commercial/ Operations Degree preferred Minimum 5 – 10 years Warehouse / Distribution Management experience Team leadership experience Food / food ingredient manufacturing industry experience preferred Broader planning / supply chain experience / exposure preferred Advanced MS Office skills Proficient in Syspro / Sage or SAP Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems Familiarity with OHS Act, LRA, and BCEA Ability to operate forklifts and other machinery #J-18808-Ljbffr
