Job Summary: Deliver Commercial Asset Finance (CAF) solutions to a defined client portfolio, ensuring service excellence, revenue growth, and client expansion. Drive total client revenue, sustainable portfolio growth, and business product sales while fostering strategic customer relationships within a specific geographical area. Responsibilities Relationship, Sales and Service: Be the main point of contact for CAF clients; develop, manage and retain a portfolio of clients by building strong and sustainable relationships. Target prospective clients and acquire new business in line with the Absa value proposition. Review and negotiate new pricing with clients, in accordance with Absa’s pricing policy, to maximize returns. Actively manage portfolio balance sheet and income statement for CAF to deliver production targets. Drive growth by improving cross-sell ratio, onboarding new clients and increasing market share. Maintain overall accountability for operational and service-related matters, leveraging internal support networks. Adopt a solution-oriented approach to meet client needs based on an in-depth understanding of client businesses, utilizing knowledge of commercial banking products (transactional and credit) and drawing on the expertise of various product and sector specialists. Risk Assessment: Manage portfolio from a business and risk perspective to ensure risk remains within acceptable levels. Analyze and balance credit risk with client capabilities, assess security and cash flow, and grow revenue lines. Co-manage high-risk accounts with credit risk teams, conduct regular reviews, and facilitate communication between clients and the Bank. Ensure transparency and open dialogue between credit and clients regarding requirements and the Bank’s position. Stay informed on developments, trends and risks in industries/sectors to support risks or opportunities. Develop value-adding lending solutions and provide inputs to Credit. Drive the credit review process with up-to-date financial information and timely submission of applications. Promote adherence to policies and governance, and maintain ongoing compliance processes. Own portfolio risk management with understanding of the Bank's and clients' regulatory environments. Client/Customer Service: Develop strategies for service excellence, build rewarding relationships across portfolios, educate clients on financial products and guidance on meeting needs. Define practices to deliver service delivery excellence and mentor others in exceptional customer service. Address client complaints promptly and use feedback to improve the client experience. Maintain a client visitation plan for proactive contact and marketing across the portfolio. Process: Analyze and interpret client information to produce reports on trends, discrepancies, and risks. Develop strategies to address issues and improve problem resolution. Provide specialist support in customer relationship management to deliver a seamless experience. Manage pipeline and cross-selling to existing clients and support client retention. Drive development and maintenance of control systems to identify and mitigate key risks. Stay informed on industry developments and build networks for market intelligence and competitive advantage. Implement personal development plans and mentor direct reports and junior team members.
