Role Overview The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the performance of the Gauteng division, overseeing operations, financial management, business development, sales, and a mechanical workshop specialising in container modifications and conversions. This position reports directly to the Managing Director.This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a technically strong individual with excellent commercial and financial acumen. The successful candidate will lead a team of approximately 43 employees while driving operational excellence, profitability, and sustainable growth.Key Responsibilities Lead the strategic direction and execution of the Gauteng operation.Manage the container rental business and workshop operations.Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial performance.Drive business growth and market penetration initiatives.Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 43 employees.Ensure operational performance aligns with financial and growth objectives.Identify customer needs and drive product innovation initiatives.Oversee container modification and conversion projects from concept to completion.Foster a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.Work closely with financial management to ensure profitability and effective capital deployment.Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders.Minimum Requirements Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical qualification.Minimum 8 years' experience in small business or operational management.Proven leadership experience within an industrial, manufacturing, engineering, or technical environment.Strong financial management and budgeting experience.Demonstrated commercial and business development skills.Ability to interpret technical and operational information and make sound business decisions.Strong people management and team leadership capabilities.Entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on management approach.Personal Attributes Energetic, resilient, and results-driven.Strong leadership and communication skills.Commercially minded with strategic thinking ability.Passionate about teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.Comfortable being actively involved in day-to-day operations and workshop activities.Visible, approachable, and hands-on leadership style.
