Technical Account Manager: Mining Technology & Operational Optimisation Are you a Mining Engineer who speaks the language of the pit but has mastered the world of data? Sapientis is recruiting a Technical Account Manager (TAM) for a global leader in integrated mining technology. This is not a traditional sales role. You are the primary technical liaison responsible for ensuring that the worlds largest surface mines dont just install technology, but actually achieve operational excellence through it. You will be the "single point of accountability" for translating FMS data into measurable production gains. Key Responsibilities (The Reality of the Role): Operational Optimization: Lead gap assessments and on-site audits to integrate tech with Load & Haul and Drill & Blast operations. Technology Roadmap & ROI: Develop site-specific technology roadmaps, moving customers from manual processes to AI-driven, autonomous, or semi-autonomous workflows. Hands-on Technical Support: Troubleshoot complex system issues (SQL, FMS modules, and hardware) and coordinate with cross-functional Engineering and Product teams. Value Delivery: Lead performance reviews for mine leadership, presenting data-driven insights on cycle times, fragmentation, and equipment utilization. Change Management: Provide on-site coaching to enhance user competency and technology adoption at the operator and supervisor level. Commercial Growth: Identify opportunities for system upgrades, platform migrations, and the integration of new Digital Solutions. Requirements: Education: Degree in Mining Engineering (BSc/BTech) is highly preferred. An MSc or Honours in Mineral Economics or Mine Planning is a major advantage. Operational Roots: 10+ years in mining, with a strong background in Surface Mining operations (Pit Supervision, Short-Term Planning, or Drill & Blast). Tech Stack: 58 years of experience with Fleet Management Systems (FMS) . Familiarity with SQL, PowerBI, and mine design software (e.g., Datamine Studio OP) is essential. Consultative Mindset: Proven ability to influence site management and technical teams through business cases and engineering analysis.
