Role Overview The Operations Manager will be primarily responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of Waste Management programs within an organization. The role will involve developing and implementing strategies to improve recycling efficiency, reduce waste, implement clear commodity trading strategies and promote sustainability. The role will also be responsible for managing the Onsite team, coordinating with external vendors and ensuring compliance with environmental and client regulations and processes. Key Responsibilities Manage operations in alignment with the Service Level Agreements. Strong knowledge of recycling processes, waste management, and environmental regulations. Manage drivers and logistics. Excellent organizational and project management skills to plan and coordinate waste management programs effectively. Manage time and attendance in alignment with the respective Service Level Agreements with our clients. Manage and oversee the quality of incoming recyclables in alignment the Interwaste Quality system. Strong leadership and team management abilities to motivate and supervise Onsite staff. Analytical skills to monitor data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and the community. Problem-solving skills to address operational challenges, optimize waste management processes, and find innovative solutions. Strong Understanding of the OHS & MHS Act. Manage and address customer complaints and queries Logistics Planning & Coordination: Capability to synchronize transportation with production schedules, including managing complex, high-volume collections. Strong safety acumen. Ensuring employees are client compliant onboarded and trained. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Critical thinking and problem solution minded Excellent communication skills Excellent attention to detail Excellent customer service Fast and efficient worker Ability to work under pressure Ability to work overtime when required. Strong Safety Acumen Strong Mining understanding Strong logistic skills managing fuel, vehicle maintenance and tyre CPK’s Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Business Management, Project Management or a related field. 3-5 years working experience in a similar field is advantageous Knowledge of logistics systems Experience in ISO9001 and 45001 Proven experience in managing recycling programs and implementing waste management initiatives. Knowledge of local, state, and federal waste management regulations and compliance requirements.
