The Strata Control Officer is responsible for assisting the Rock Engineer with strata control issues in his area of responsibility. The role is responsible for conducting underground investigations on request, observe strata conditions and ensure rock engineering standards are complied with, as well as pro-actively identifying high risk areas. Conduct underground strata control inspections and audits Monitor ground conditions and identify geotechnical hazards Assess rock mass stability and risk ratings (panels, tunnels) Ensure compliance with rock engineering standards and support designs Recommend and monitor support systems (bolts, Mechanical long anchors, etc.) Participate in fall-of-ground (FOG) investigations and incident analysis Provide input into mine design and planning (layouts, stopes, pillars) Compile technical reports and communicate hazards to production teams Track and report changes in geological and ground conditions Train and coach mining personnel on strata control and safe practices Grade 12 Valid drivers licence Minimum of 1-year experience COM Strata Control Certificate (Metalliferous) Mining/Rock Engineering qualification will be advantageous #J-18808-Ljbffr
