Overview We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our team on a 12-month contract based in Parktown . The successful candidate will play a critical role in translating actuarial and business requirements into system solutions, particularly within rating engines and insurance product configuration in a Short-Term Insurance environment. This role requires a highly analytical professional with strong stakeholder engagement skills, deep understanding of insurance pricing structures, and experience working in Agile delivery environments. Key Responsibilities Requirement Gathering Solution Design & Documentation Agile Delivery & Backlog Management Testing & Validation Training & Change Management Compliance & Governance Continuous Improvement Required Qualifications Matric (Grade 12) Business Analysis Certification Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field Agile Certification Technical knowledge including: SQL API fundamentals Data modelling XML Required Experience Minimum 5 years' experience in IT Business Analysis At least 5 years within the Short-Term Insurance industry 3-5 years' experience working with rating engines including: Data dictionaries, data mapping, and product configuration Designing and interpreting data flows, sequence diagrams, and ERDs Working with APIs, system integrations, and SQL for data retrieval and validation Translating actuarial/pricing models into system requirements Exposure to multiple insurance products across Commercial and Personal Lines Required Knowledge & Skills Strong understanding of insurance product structures and premium calculation logic (risk factors, discounts, loadings, fees) Practical experience working in Agile/Scrum environments Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar case management tools Excellent documentation skills (BRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria) Strong stakeholder management and communication skills Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail The Reference Number for this position is LJ61144 which is a 12 month contract position based in Parktown (Hybrid) offering a up to R450 p/h negotiable on experience and ability.
