We are looking for an experienced Boilermaker to fabricate, assemble, and install mechanical structures and piping systems at a fuel storage depot or refinery. You will ensure all work meets project specifications, quality standards, and site-specific HSE requirements while supporting project deliverables. Department: Projects Location: Cape Town Reports to : Construction Manager Start Date: January 2026 Position Type: Fixed Term Responsibilities Fabricate structures and piping according to technical and isometric drawings. Assemble and install fabricated structures and piping accurately. Maintain high safety, quality, and compliance standards at all times. Collaborate with team members, contractors, and stakeholders to achieve project goals. Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with site regulations. Follow all safety protocols, HSE procedures, and ISO/QCP guidelines. Report deviations, non-conformances, and potential hazards promptly. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Quality: Accuracy of fabricated structures and piping; number of defects or reworks. Schedule Adherence: Completion of tasks within planned timeframes. Safety Compliance: Compliance with HSE procedures and safe working practices; incidents/near-misses. Efficiency: Output per shift, fit-up time, and installation speed. Reporting: Timely communication of hazards, deviations, work progress, and non-conformances. Qualifications Formal Qualifications Recognised Red‑Seal Boilermaker certification. On-the-Job Training/Certificates Permit-to-Work Systems Working at Heights Confined Space Entry Other Requirements Valid driver’s license Experience 3–5 years as a Boilermaker in industrial or petrochemical environments. Experience in fuel storage depots or refineries preferred. Coordinate activities with scaffolding, painting, civil, quality, and safety teams. Prior experience in tank repair, refurbishment, fabrication, and piping installation is a plus.
