We are looking for an experienced Underwriting Manager to join our dynamic team! Duties shall include but not be limited to the following: People Recruit, orient and train team Up-skilling of team (technical, regulatory and soft skills) Manage a unified team of individuals Identify and develop personal growth opportunities within the team Manage relationships with insurers and other strategic partners Live the company values and The Hereford Way in all that you do Create an environment that promotes HRMS’ vision of being an “Employer Of Choice” Performance Ensure underwriting tasks are being processed within our service level agreements Ensure best practice by regular monitoring and auditing of work carried out by the team Apply cost saving and efficiency principals to underwriting tasks were applicable Pro-active performance management of team Develop, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards. Build a team that delivers towards HRMS service standards and vision of being “Broker Of Choice” Processes Manage underwriting mandates/processes in line with insurer and internal guidelines Identify trends and recommending improvements Ensure that underwriting tasks are dealt with according to industry regulations and Hereford standard Manage complaints Compiling necessary report for feedback to senior management and insurers Effective oversight of the renewal process Implement and oversee client and policy retention strategies Ensure records on CRM and Policy management systems are accurate and in accordance with agreed processes and guidelines Design reports for the effective management and oversight of mandates, service level agreements, processes, and compliance matters KPI’s Staff training & competence (product, and systems) Complaints Management Performance Management Percentage of book on binder (conversion of existing book as well as new business) Revenue Retention and Growth Quality Assurance (Adherence to procedure, regulations and service standards) Service Delivery (SLA’s, Committed To Excellence, The Hereford Way) Market-related salary offered to the right candidate.
