Job Title: Accountant Location: Pietermaritzburg, South Africa Industry: Retail Hire Resolve is seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant to join our client's esteemed retail company in Pietermaritzburg with numerous branches. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, finance, and retail industry experience.Responsibilities: - Prepare and analyze financial reports, forecasts, and budgets- Manage accounts payable and receivable- Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies- Prepare tax returns and assist with tax planning- Provide financial analysis and reporting to management- Monitor and maintain internal controls- Assist with audits and compliance requirements- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records- Experience with recurring Journals- Experience with Intercompany AccountingQualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance- Professional accounting designation is a plus (AGA(SA), SAIPA, SAICA, etc)- At least 3-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the retail industry- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Quickbooks, Sage)- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- Ability to work independently and as part of a teamThis is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accountant to join a growing retail company in Pietermaritzburg.
