The Opportunity Roche Diagnostics is seeking a Key Account Manager (Histology & Sequencing) based preferably in the Western Cape with commercial experience in the Diagnostic / Medical industry. The role will involve developing account and portfolio strategies, identifying and securing sales opportunities, and building relationships with key executive decision makers to grow Roche market share. While the focus is on the Western Cape, the role will involve travel to other provinces. Key Challenges Stakeholder Engagement and Management Build customer relationships by participating in Roche and industry events, engaging with executive decision makers, understanding market trends and providing feedback. Create and maintain customer account mapping by identifying stakeholders, preparing profiles of formal and informal decision makers, and creating an organogram of the account as required. Identify sales data trends at portfolio level by extracting, analyzing, and interpreting sales data, and sharing findings monthly. Understand customer needs and wants. Maintain effective internal relationships by engaging with relevant individuals and departments, influencing alignment and mobilisation towards key account and portfolio strategies, providing information and feedback, and addressing any queries as required. Maintain relevant product, industry, and sector knowledge by engaging with market players—including competitors and customers—analysing information and activities, identifying issues and trends, and providing feedback to the relevant individuals or departments. Account Management Implement the account and portfolio strategy by understanding customer requirements, collaborating with marketing, implementing strategies in market segments, and securing new clients or expanding the footprint in existing clients. Identify sales opportunities by engaging with customers to understand new products or opportunities, analysing the opportunity, developing proposals, and presenting them monthly and as required. Run campaigns by engaging with Product Managers, engaging with customers, and organising campaign events as required. Respond to sales‑related queries by understanding the issue, sourcing appropriate feedback, and providing it to clients. Report on sales performance by analysing sales data daily, identifying trends and patterns, providing performance feedback, monitoring profitability, and drafting monthly reports as required. Achieve sales targets by managing sales opportunities, loading onto the CRM system, engaging with customers, preparing and presenting proposals, securing deals, monitoring customer satisfaction in implementation, identifying risks, and implementing corrective action daily. Administer the sales process by updating all sales information in the CRM system, tracking pipeline progress, identifying areas of risk and opportunity, and implementing appropriate actions daily. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Data Ensure accurate customer data is actively updated in the CRM tool. Ensure all customer‑related and internal activities are logged as required. Analyse data and reports to understand performance trends. Customer Relationship Development / Prospecting Develop a growth strategy focused on both financial gain and customer satisfaction. Identify and map business strengths and customer needs. Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs to expand the client base and viable income streams. Have an in‑depth knowledge of business products and value proposition. Required Qualification NQF 7 in Medical science or similar is required. Required Experience At least 3‑5 years experience in a commercial role in the medical industry, preferably with experience in Histology and/or Sequencing.
