Work Location and Hours Remote- and hybrid-first global company spanning the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Work across more than 50 countries. Align with UK business hours: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM SAST during UK standard time (GMT) (1 Nov–31 Mar) and 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM SAST during UK daylight saving time (BST) (1 Apr–31 Oct). First three months fully office-based in the Sandton office; thereafter hybrid schedule. Responsibilities Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Business Development Representative team. Drive new customer pipeline, follow up on marketing-generated leads, and support the wider sales organization to fuel growth. Act as a player/coach, setting the standard, working alongside the team on the floor, and ensuring targets are consistently met. Recruit, hire, and onboard top talent to build and scale the BDR function. Join calls, support reps breaking into accounts, and stay close to the work as a player/coach. Drive team performance through weekly one-on-one meetings, quarterly reviews, KPI tracking, and performance routines. Coach reps on prospecting, qualification, sequencing, and objection handling to elevate results. Refine and implement processes to improve efficiency, CRM hygiene, and adoption of the tech stack. Collaborate with senior sales leadership to optimise lead generation strategies and ensure smooth prospect handoffs. Partner with marketing to manage inbound leads and ensure high-quality sales-accepted leads (SALs). Plan and execute monthly and quarterly initiatives that align with revenue targets. Provide training, resources, and structured coaching to drive continuous team development. Deliver insights and recommendations to leadership through clear reporting and performance analysis. Qualifications Proven experience leading and scaling high-performing BDR or SDR teams. Strong coaching mindset with a passion for developing people and holding high standards. Clear, confident communication and leadership skills. Ability to identify early opportunities and act quickly to capitalize on them. Comfortable challenging old ways of working and championing modern approaches. High level of ownership, commitment, and care for both people and performance. Strong pre-sales and commercial understanding; knowledge of Challenger methodology is a bonus. Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and operations to drive alignment. Comfortable with flexible hours and travel when needed. Solid understanding of modern sales processes, outbound strategies, and sales tools, including CRM systems such as Salesforce or HubSpot. Demonstrated ability to hit targets and drive pipeline growth. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities. Strong relationship-building, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
