Position Overview We are expanding our PMO Coordination function by adding a second team member to accelerate delivery, provide greater coverage, and enable the team to scale more quickly. As a PMO Coordinator, you will support Project Management Teams in organising and administering all types of projects, from simple activities to more complex implementations. Working as part of a small but growing team, you will share responsibilities with your fellow PMO Coordinator, ensuring that project governance processes run smoothly and consistently. Reporting to the Regional Services Operations Team, you will work closely with Global PMO, Project Managers, Team Leaders, and delivery teams to coordinate various aspects of project management processes. The primary objective of this role is to support overall project governance, with a strong emphasis on project tracking and reporting to ensure projects meet deadlines, stay within budget, and are managed in accordance with the MRI 4D Framework. Location: South Africa Cape Town office. Hybrid working model with 3 days working from home per week. This position supports the UK region and follows UK hours (10:00 - 18:30 SA time, until 19:30 during daylight saving). Responsibilities Conduct regular internal audits and project reviews with Project Managers and Team Leaders to ensure adherence to the MRI 4D Framework and identify areas for improvement Use MRI tools, systems and data to assess project compliance, identify opportunities for improvement, report on actions, plans and budgets Prepare and present audit reports, highlighting compliance issues, risks, and recommendations for corrective actions Provide guidance and support to PMs in implementing corrective actions to keep projects on track Develop and enhance project governance documentation, including policies, procedures, templates and guidelines and oversee communication and implementation Ensure governance is applied correctly on MRI projects Drive efficiencies within PMO and project management teams, working closely with your fellow PMO Coordinator to streamline processes Create and maintain management reports to track project status and performance Participate in PM focus groups and contribute insights from governance activities Assist PM Team Leaders and PMs in identifying and resolving project issues and bottlenecks Coordinating Lessons Learnt activities Develop and deliver training sessions to Project Managers and project teams on governance processes, methodologies, and best practices Requirements 3 years of experience in project management, PMO Coordination, or a similar role ideally within a software development environment Successful completion of PRINCE2, PMBOK, PMP or equivalent project management course Ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step‑by‑step action plans Solid organisational skills, including multitasking and time‑management Strong teamwork and presentation skills Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 360 Ability to analyse financial data, including project budgets, risks and issues Benefits Office breakfasts, quarterly lunches, virtual social events, and participation in DEI committees and employee resource groups such as Women and Allies, and the Pride Event Group Medical Aid Scheme Competitive Personal Pension plan Parental Leave benefit 25 days of annual leave plus public holidays and a bank of 16 hours of Flex Time Off available as you choose Tuition Reimbursement Schemes Flexibility to work from anywhere in the world for two weeks a year MRI is proud to be an inclusive employer.
