We are seeking an experienced and passionate Social Worker to join our Paarl Valley (Western Cape) team. Role: Permanent, On‑site, Qualification: Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or equivalent Salary (monthly): R18000 – R23000 (cost to company), based on experience Application Requirements Current registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) is a non‑negotiable requirement. A minimum of two (2) post‑qualification years’ experience as a social worker, with a clear understanding of the relevant statutory processes and requirements for foster care. Proven ability to lead a team. Sound knowledge of South African social policies, legislation, and the Mental Health Care Act, as well as orphan care and foster care processes. Valid Code B driver’s licence and own vehicle. Mileage will be reimbursed for travel within Mosaic’s operational area. Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Proficiency in both Afrikaans and English (written and spoken) is essential. Proficiency in Xhosa is a strong preference. Key Responsibilities Developing and implementing programmes to support Mosaic’s Family Development Programme. Coordinating the identification and intake process for new Mosaic families. Conducting home visits to beneficiary families. Assisting beneficiary families with required documentation and paperwork. Conducting psychosocial assessments and overseeing care plans for beneficiaries. Participating in case conferences and family interviews. Providing counselling and psychosocial interventions using relevant therapeutic skills. Developing and communicating information about community resources for beneficiaries, their families, and caregivers, and referring them to appropriate supportive services. Providing individual and group counselling to families in Mosaic’s programmes. Networking with relevant stakeholders and maintaining an effective referral system. Designing and presenting training modules for beneficiaries, staff, and partner organisations. Recording and maintaining accurate, detailed client information and intervention records. Compiling monthly reports. Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings. Working within the ethical framework and scope of practice of the social work profession. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Sound conflict management skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team. Well‑developed time management and organisational skills. Experience providing counselling and referral pathways for beneficiaries and their families or caretakers.
