About the role The Junior HR Generalist provides administrative and operational HR support across multiple business divisions. The role supports labour relations, performance management, misconduct processes, HR administration, and BBBEE compliance under the guidance of senior management and/or external labour specialists.Responsibilities:Labour Relations & Employee Relations Support Support disciplinary and employee relations processes under instruction and supervision aligned with qualifications based on CV and work experience. Preparation of disciplinary documentation (notices, charge sheets, hearing packs). Scheduling and disciplinary hearings and investigations to be conducted with Management. Recording minutes and maintaining case files on one drive. Collecting information regarding the matters thats been assigned to you. Arranging interviews for positions that management will ask for plan. Carry our background checks for candidates. Compiling investigation files for review. Liaise with external labour consultants or attorneys when matters are escalated. Track and maintain disciplinary cases and outcomes. Performance Management & Underperformance Support Preparing PIP templates and documentation. Scheduling performance counselling sessions. Tracking review dates, progress, and outcomes. Maintain accurate records of performance discussions and improvement actions. Escalate performance matters requiring formal incapacity processes to senior management. Misconduct & Operational HR SupportLog, track, and support misconduct matters relating to: Absenteeism and late coming. Poor work performance. Negligence. Insubordination. Policy and safety breaches. Support operational and fleet teams by: Preparing disciplinary documentation packs. Coordinating onsite investigations or hearings. Tracking turnaround times and escalation points. Ensure all records are stored accurately and confidentially. HR Administration, Contracts & PoliciesAssist with drafting, updating and administration of: Employment contracts (using approved templates). Disciplinary codes and procedures. HR policies and SOPs. Ensure consistent filing and application of HR documentation across divisions. Employee onboarding and induction processes. Offboarding and exit administration. Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential employee records. BBBEE Administration Support Support the BBBEE process by: Collecting and maintaining supporting documentation. Assisting with data preparation for verification. Liaising with consultants and verification agencies as directed. Maintain organised BBBEE records and reporting files. Support management with basic BBBEE compliance administration. Monthly reporting at meetings. Cost Control & Escalation Management Support cost effective HR operations by: Preparing documentation internally before escalation. Tracking matters referred to external labour consultants. Escalate legal or high-risk matters promptly to senior management. Ensure HR processes are practical, consistent, and aligned with business operations. Key Deliverables Accurate and up-to-date HR and employee relations records. Well-prepared disciplinary and performance documentation. Timeous escalation of labour-related risks. Administrative support for compliant HR processes. BBBEE documentation audit readiness. Minimum Requirements South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34. Must not have participated on the YES programme before. Matric. Diploma/ Degree in HR or relevant qualification. Basic understanding of South African labour legislation (LRA, BCEA, EEA). Behavioural Requirements Must have a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Willingness to learn and take instruction. Able to handle sensitive employee information responsibly. Structured, organised, and process-driven. Comfortable working in operational and fast-paced environments.
