We are seeking a skilled and driven maintenance professional to join our Technical Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring maximum plant availability through effective maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is graded at a Peromnes 09 level and reports directly to the Senior Electrical Technician. Key responsibilities include: Ensure Plant availability by undertaking machine maintenance, repairs, installations effectively and in accordance to set standards. Attend to all breakdowns promptly and effectively. Use structured problem‑solving methodologies (5WHY and RCA), when triggered to determine and eliminate root cause. Track all tools and parts, ensuring adequate stock and order new items as needed. Design modifications and ensure correct change management procedure is followed. Conduct routine and on-the-spot tests of all mechanical and electrical systems and circuits. Keep records/reports and schedules for analytical purposes. Comply to the works planning and control procedures in accordance to the asset management strategy. Keep software backup files updated according to Nampak governance procedures. Strive to improve machine efficiencies and control of spoilage continuously and assist Plant in reducing cost of wastage of materials/equipment and products. Provide Suggestions/recommendations to drive continuous improvement on the lines. Follow and maintain all safety, quality and environmental standards and regulations with everything they do. Ensure all tools and equipment are kept and stored to standard.
