Position summary ATNS is seeking a candidate to deliver Aviation English Language training courses and conduct rater activities for internal and external aviation personnel to ensure they meet ICAO prerequisites for English Language Proficiencies, as required. The candidate ensures that Air Traffic Services personnel maintain effective communication in a safety‑critical environment. Responsibilities Deliver basic, intermediate or advanced Aviation English language training to all local and international Air Traffic Services (ATS) delegates as required, following ICAO guidelines. Ensure optimum training solutions are consistently developed, updated and maintained. Adhere to approved training plans, curricula, syllabi, schedules and related QMS documentation. Develop educational material to support training courses and related modules. Monitor trainees’ progress against interim and final standards to diagnose language difficulties and recommend remedial interventions. Provide timely remediation for individual deficiencies to help trainees achieve the required English level. Recommend systematic improvements to ATA management based on deficiency analysis. Carry out valid and reliable assessments and examinations using appropriate tools, gathering evidence of competent performance through oral observations and other methodologies. Develop and compile assessment tools for fair, objective assessment of integrated performance and evaluate competency elements against standards. Analyze results, reports and feedback for continuous improvement of Aviation English proficiencies and teaching techniques. Manage issues related to trainee attitude, supporting the development of a values‑based safety culture in line with the ATNS Code of Conduct. Review and amend assessment exercises and training objectives to ensure fit‑for‑purpose language proficiency. Attend and participate in international linguist conferences, seminars, workshops and events to benchmark course delivery methodologies and practices. Qualifications Master’s degree in English Language Teaching is an advantage. Minimum of three years’ experience delivering Aviation English Language training to Air Traffic Controllers, Pilots and other licensed personnel under ICAO Annex 1. Experience delivering learning to local and international non‑English speaking clients. Familiarity with radiotelephony and aviation (through apprenticeship or experience).
