Our client is seeking a highly experienced BMH Specialist Engineer to provide site-based engineering leadership and technical coordination on an ash dam construction project. The successful candidate will take responsibility for construction monitoring, engineering support, quality assurance, and contractor engagement linked to bulk materials handling systems and ash infrastructure interfaces. This role requires an individual who combines strong engineering fundamentals with practical field experience and the ability to manage technical interfaces across multiple disciplines. The position demands hands-on involvement within a heavy industrial environment and the ability to ensure construction activities align with engineering and quality requirements. Responsibilities Provide technical oversight for ash dam construction activities and BMH interfaces Coordinate engineering activities across site teams and contractors Monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with engineering specifications Support quality assurance and technical review processes Manage contractor interfaces and resolve technical issues on site Provide engineering input into ash handling and bulk material movement systems Monitor and report on construction execution risks and corrective actions Ensure engineering standards and safety requirements are maintained Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or BTech in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline 10–15 years of relevant engineering experience Minimum 5 years of experience in ash handling systems, BMH systems, or ash dam infrastructure projects Experience within heavy industrial, utility, or power generation environments Strong construction supervision and site-based engineering experience Knowledge of bulk material movement systems and engineering interfaces Strong stakeholder management and contractor coordination skills Advantageous Experience Eskom power station projects Ash dam construction projects Coal-fired power generation environments Bulk Materials Handling systems Ash slurry pipelines and pumping systems What Success Looks Like Effective engineering coordination across site activities Construction execution aligned with technical specifications and quality requirements Efficient management of technical interfaces and contractor activities Early identification and resolution of engineering risks Strong contribution to project delivery milestones and operational objectives #J-18808-Ljbffr
