Financial Modeller Manager Mid Level to Senior Location Johannesburg based in Centurion or Cape Town based in Stellenbosch Hybrid working with 3 days per week in the office About the role We are hiring a highly analytical and commercially minded Financial Modeller to join a specialist advisory team focused on infrastructure and energy transactions. You will play a key role in building and maintaining bespoke Excel based financial models for projects that often involve limited recourse debt financing. The work spans the full project lifecycle from early stage feasibility through to financial close and operational reporting. Sectors include renewable energy and decarbonization, infrastructure, mining and natural resources, private healthcare, real estate, and agriculture. This is a strong opportunity to deepen technical modelling skills while working closely with experienced advisors, clients, and lenders on high impact projects. Key responsibilities Build, refine, and maintain complex bespoke financial models in Microsoft Excel Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis to assess viability and risk Support project finance and transaction advisory workstreams Interpret model outputs and deliver clear insights through presentations and reports Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align on key assumptions Maintain structured databooks and version controlled assumption sets For senior candidates, review models built by others and mentor junior modellers Required skills and experience 1 to 4 years of relevant experience for mid level 4 plus years for senior or manager level Strong Microsoft Excel capability with experience building and updating project finance models Solid grasp of limited recourse project finance principles and cash flow structuring Ability to translate technical results into commercial insight Strong communication skills and confident report writing Exposure to bidding or tender processes for energy or infrastructure projects is a plus VBA experience is beneficial but not required Education Bachelors degree in Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline A postgraduate financial qualification such as CFA is beneficial but not required What you will gain Broad exposure across diverse infrastructure and energy projects Deep technical mastery in financial modelling Clear pathways into transaction execution and longer term dealmaking roles Client, lender, and stakeholder exposure from early on A collaborative team environment that values technical excellence and commercial thinking #J-18808-Ljbffr
