Location: Johannesburg Job Type: 18 month contract, expected to work Full-Time hours (Onsite) Job Title Project Study Lead Job Duties Develop scopes of work: Draft, define, and manage technical scopes for all external consultants and sub‑contractors participating in the study. Team leadership: Lead and manage the multidisciplinary study team, providing clear direction and ensuring alignment with project goals. Manage consultants and sub‑contracts: Oversee the performance of all external parties, ensuring delivery of scope, schedule, and quality, and manage deliverables, progress reviews, and technical consistency. Schedule and budget monitoring: Work with the Project Manager to track schedule, budget, and quality assurance. Deliverable integration: Integrate outputs from all disciplines (geology, mining, processing, infrastructure, environment, community) into a cohesive study report. Technical review: Conduct and coordinate technical reviews of consultant deliverables to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency. Optimisation and trade‑off studies: Coordinate and manage technical optimisation and trade‑off studies to determine the most viable project options. Third‑party governance: Coordinate and facilitate third‑party reviews and audits to ensure the study’s robustness and bankability. Stakeholder engagement & reporting: Assist the Project Manager in preparing and delivering regular status reports and presentations to senior management and key stakeholders. Information dissemination: Ensure effective communication and information flow between consultants, the project team, and key internal stakeholders. Stakeholder workshops: Lead technical workshops and review meetings with the study team and client representatives. Compliance, health, safety, and environment (HSE) – legal compliance: Ensure methodology and outcomes adhere to relevant South African legislation (MHSA, NEMA, SAMREC/SAMVAL codes). Compliance, health, safety, and environment (HSE) – integration: Ensure HSE considerations are integrated into all technical work streams and design criteria during the study phase. Risk management – maintain risk register: Assist the Project Manager in developing and managing the study’s risk register. Risk management – mitigation strategies: Develop and track the implementation of risk mitigation plans for technical and execution risks identified during the study. Required Qualifications Engineering Degree Experience 15 years of experience Proven experience in managing multi‑disciplinary studies within the mining industry, including conceptual, pre‑feasibility, and definitive feasibility studies. Strong technical background in a key mining discipline (e.g., Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, Geology) with a broad understanding of related disciplines. #J-18808-Ljbffr
