The Project Engineer will manage defined project packages or components under the guidance of a Senior Project Manager, gaining exposure across the full project lifecycle. Working with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and clients, to help ensure that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Responsibilities Manage allocated project packages through design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and defects liability phases Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering inputs to ensure technical completeness, cost control, and schedule adherence Support the implementation and communication of the project quality plan Prepare technical enquiry documentation for suppliers and subcontractors Evaluate supplier submissions, perform technical and commercial adjudications, and support purchase order placement within approved budgets Maintain and track project schedules, including supplier and subcontractor progress Monitor and support compliance with health, safety, and ISO requirements Develop working knowledge of project commercial, contractual, and legal obligations Maintain effective relationships with clients, suppliers, and project stakeholders Identify and report project risks related to scope, cost, time, and quality Manage nonconformities and support root cause analysis for defects during execution and the defects liability period Capture and maintain organizational knowledge within the project engineering discipline Ensure all activities align with ISO 9001:2015 processes and PCI Africa workflows Minimum Requirements BSc or BTech in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering (or equivalent) Minimum 3 years’ project experience in the water, wastewater, mining, or related infrastructure sectors Understanding of project lifecycle coordination across engineering and procurement activities Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, including risk-based thinking and process management Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills A proactive, detail-oriented approach with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams How to Apply If you’re looking for your next big challenge and a career that truly matters, apply now to and be part of building a better, water-secure future.
