A South African company that provides specialized operational support, technology platforms, and business process outsourcing (BPO) to insurers, brokers, automotive manufacturers, and fleet managers is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer who will ensure the seamless operation, optimization, and security of Microsoft Azure and M365 platforms. Responsibilities Operations & Support: Manage day-to-day Azure/M365 platform health; act as a Tier 3 escalation point for the Global Service Desk. Incident & Problem Management: Lead major incident responses, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes. Engineering & Design: Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to design and deploy secure, scalable cloud infrastructure for global projects. Security & Compliance: Enforce security hardening (CIS baselines), manage identity controls (PIM/RBAC), and remediate vulnerabilities. Monitoring & Reliability: Utilize SRE principles and Azure Monitor/Log Analytics to ensure high availability and proactive capacity planning. Maintenance: Oversee automated patching, certificate lifecycles, and lifecycle management via Azure Update Manager. Minimum Requirements Essential: National Diploma in IT (NQF Level 6) or equivalent; Microsoft Azure/M365 Certifications. Preferred: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104). 5+ years in IT, preferably within Financial Services or Insurance. 3+ years of hands‑on Azure/Hybrid Cloud engineering. Process Mastery: Proven experience with ITIL processes (Change, Incident, Problem, Request). Communication: Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders. Environment: Experience working in large, matrixed organizations and distributed global teams. Technical Skills Cloud Infrastructure: Expert‑level Azure governance (Policy, RBAC, Subscriptions) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM). Automation: Advanced PowerShell scripting and Azure Automation Runbooks (Hybrid Workers). M365 & Security: Deep knowledge of Exchange Online, Entra ID (Conditional Access/MFA), and Microsoft Purview (DLP, eDiscovery). Governance: Power Platform administration (DLP, environment controls) and cost management/optimization. Networking: Proficiency in VNets, NSGs, Firewalls, Private Endpoints, and routing. Observability: Hands‑on experience with Log Analytics, Azure Monitor, and Grafana.
