As we continue to scale, we are looking for an ambitious and results-driven Business Development Specialist to help accelerate merchant growth within this sector.About the role:We are looking for a mid-level Business Development Specialist with a strong hunting mentality and a passion for identifying and closing new business opportunities.This role is focused primarily on outbound sales and new merchant acquisition. You will be responsible for building a strong sales pipeline, engaging prospective merchants, and driving new revenue opportunities across multiple industries including e-commerce, travel, retail, hospitality, and other high-growth sectors.The ideal candidate has a proven track record in B2B sales, fintech, payments, SaaS, or related industries and thrives in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.Requirements Your mission- Drive new merchant acquisition through proactive outbound sales activities.- Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, referrals, and lead generation.- Identify and engage potential merchants through cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn, partnerships, and events.- Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through to closing and onboarding.- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of PayGenius products and payment solutions.- Identify new market opportunities and emerging industry trends.- Build strategic relationships with prospects and partners.- Maintain accurate sales activity and pipeline reporting within CRM systems.- Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.- Provide market feedback and customer insights to support product and commercial strategy.Your profile- 2–3 years of experience in business development, B2B sales, fintech, payments, SaaS, or a related field.- Demonstrated success in hunting, prospecting, and closing new business opportunities.- Strong ability to generate leads and build a pipeline independently.- Excellent communication and presentation skills.- Comfortable with outbound sales and cold outreach activities.- Strong commercial and negotiation skills.- Highly self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset.- Strong organizational and reporting skills.- Goal-oriented with a strong drive to exceed targets.- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.- Proficiency in English.Bonus points if you have- Experience within payments, acquiring, fintech, or merchant services.- Existing networks within the Travel, Tourism, Hospitality, and e-commerce sectors.- Experience with digital collaboration tools (Slack, Google Meet, AI tools).- CRM experience (Zoho, HubSpot, or similar).Why join PayGenius?- Opportunity to join a growing fintech business shaping the future of payments in Africa.- Hybrid working environment.- Work with a dynamic and entrepreneurial team.- Exposure to innovative payment technologies and diverse industries.- Opportunities for growth and career development.- Competitive salary with performance-based incentives. #J-18808-Ljbffr
