About the Company a mission‑led African scale‑up helping people access essentials like reliable energy and affordable smartphones – especially in places where access is hardest and impact is biggest. They build their own tech, run on‑ground distribution networks, and finance products thousands rely on daily. Field teams use their tools to serve customers in villages, towns, and busy urban hubs across multiple African countries. It’s meaningful work, with real stakes, and the kind of impact you can actually see. With more than a thousand people across the continent, the HQ team is small, tight‑knit, and ridiculously capable. You’ll get responsibility from day one, tons of support, and a culture where curiosity, humility, and ownership matter more than titles. About the Role As a Junior Data Analyst, you help the company make smarter decisions using data – not guesswork. You’ll dive into operational data, uncover insights, build dashboards, and support teams across credit, sales, operations, and product. You’ll learn fast, work closely with mentors, and develop a solid foundation in analytics, storytelling, and business problem‑solving. It’s a hands‑on, high‑growth learning environment – perfect if you love solving puzzles, asking why things happen, and making data useful for real humans in real markets. What You'll Be Doing Dig Into Data: Write SQL queries to extract and explore operational data. Spot patterns, trends, and "huh, that’s interesting…" signals. Build Reports & Dashboards: Create clean, intuitive dashboards that teams actually use. Turn raw data into simple stories that drive decisions. Support Data‑Driven Decisions: Work with sales, credit, product, and ops teams to understand their questions. Translate business needs into analysis, insights, and recommendations. Own Data Quality: Validate datasets, flag gaps, and help improve data hygiene. Ensure stakeholders trust the numbers you put in front of them. Who You Are You don’t need years of experience – just potential, curiosity, and a willingness to learn quickly. You’ll thrive if: You have a degree in Stats, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or similar. You’re comfortable writing SQL and working with spreadsheets. You’ve used tools like Tableau or Power BI (or you’re keen to learn). Bonus: you’ve touched Python or R, even lightly. You’re curious, analytical, and love figuring out why numbers behave the way they do. You enjoy explaining your findings simply – charts over jargon. You’re organised, detail‑oriented, and ok with ambiguity. You’re excited to work in fast‑moving African markets and open to travelling when needed. You want your work to matter. Why You'll Love It A mission with genuine real‑world impact. Gorgeous HQ office with ocean views. ESOP after year one. Hybrid flexibility (about half the time in‑office). Annual team retreats. Travel opportunities to multiple African markets. Flexible paid time off. A warm, collaborative environment where people help each other grow.
