Purpose: To manage the marketing function of the relevant mall / malls. Focus on the development and execution of the marketing strategy with results driven / return on investment focused marketing. The role reports directly to centre management. Main duties and responsibilities: Summary of duties below: Marketing Strategy: Develop and execute the malls marketing strategy Include input and support from centre and portfolio management and regional and head of retail marketing Secure approval from portfolio and asset management Campaign Plans and Strategy Execution: Develop and present campaign plans Include input and support from centre management and regional and head of retail marketing Include measurable KPI’s and provide post campaign reports (results v objectives) Include sponsorship targets as key KPI Digital Strategy: Develop and execute digital strategy Including website, database management, social media, digital reputation management and other / innovative digital solutions (mobile app, mobile payments, influencer marketing etc.) CSI Strategy: Develop and execute CSI strategy Manage and report on free on Alternative Income and GLA space for CSI Align with Red Thread (where relevant) Keep detailed reports and add to monthly reports Tenant Marketing and relationship management: Develop and execute tenant marketing and relationship strategy Focus on relationships: Manager tenant database Welcome new tenants / tenant welcome pack Tenant meetings Tenant communication (including monthly newsletter) Other tenant focus areas: Secure participation in marketing initiatives Report on tenant performance Drive and execute tenant initiatives Footprint awards: Entry into Footprint awards Ensure at least 1 big idea is conceptualized and executed each year (or more as per KPI’s) Alternative Income: Drive income and ensure the mall reaches targets Sell promo and kiosk space or assist the Alternative Income team Assist in set up’s and strike downs of all exhibitions (in line with process) Include Alternative Income ideas and campaigns in the marketing strategy Completion and submission of check lists Reporting: Development and submission of monthly report Focus on post campaign / initiatives reporting to show results v objectives Other: Execute crisis communication when required (in line with policy) Track, manage and report on all shopper complaints Management of all guest relation officers and marketing assistants (if relevant / on-site) Loading and vetting of new suppliers Management of all suppliers / strategic partners (such as media agencies, design studio’s / agencies, events companies, website partners, social media agencies, print and production suppliers etc.) Management and storage of all marketing stock / materials Management and storage of Christmas Décor Qualification and Experience: Degree / diploma 5-7 years of marketing / retail / brand or other relevant experience Job Knowledge: An understanding of retail marketing and brand marketing and all related functions Ability to execute a strategy and achieve results An understanding of digital marketing / social media Ability to interact confidently with all levels of people within the organization Ability to manage teams effectively Ability to manage marketing partners and suppliers effectively Ability to think strategically, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
