Key Responsibilities Robotic Welding & Programming Develop, optimise, and troubleshoot robotic welding programs Improve cycle times, reduce waste, and enhance weld quality Maintain welding documentation and process standards Quality & Process Control Conduct weld inspections and coordinate testing Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions Ensure compliance with customer standards (incl. CQI-15) Jigs, Fixtures & Technical Support Assess and improve welding jigs and fixtures Support tooling and product engineering teams Apply GD&T and dimensioning principles Leadership & Continuous Improvement Act as technical lead for robotic welding Coach and mentor technicians and operators Drive Lean initiatives (5S, Kaizen, SMED, TPM ) Improve OEE, reduce downtime, and control costs Minimum Requirements Bachelors Degree in Electrical / Electronic / Mechatronic / Controls Engineering (RPL applicable) Trade Test (mandatory) SAIW Level 2 Inspection Six Sigma Green Belt Minimum 7 years experience in PLC programming, controls design & fault finding Proven experience with Yaskawa Motoman robots and SKS welding systems Automotive industry experience Knowledge of Ford welding specifications & CQI-15 Core Competencies Deep knowledge of metallurgy, MIG/MAG welding & projection welding Strong PLC troubleshooting (Siemens / Allen-Bradley ) GD&T and fixture design expertise Lean Manufacturing & process optimisation Strong analytical and problem-solving ability Strategic yet hands-on approach
