Join to apply for the Digital Delivery Modeler – Structures role at SMEC 4 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Join to apply for the Digital Delivery Modeler – Structures role at SMEC Position: Digital Delivery Modeler – Structures Location Randburg REPORTS TO Technical Principal, Digital Delivery Lead or any other person appointed to supervise him/her from time to time. PRIMARY POSITION PURPOSE Provide and undertake complex design modelling and production tasks, prepare tender/construction documents, and provide technical support services in meeting the requirements of the functional group and its clients. Note: This is position is strictly applicable to the discipline of structural engineering. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Produce efficient, high-quality Models, drawings and documentation using Revit and AutoCAD software Assist in developing and maintaining a library of standard details and Revit families. Assist Senior Modellers and Engineers with research and innovation Assist with improving efficiency by using plugins and workflows to save time on repetitive tasks in modelling and annotation. Use office systems relevant to tasks Ensure appropriate technical and model/drawing standards and quality procedures are maintained on all projects Ensure projects are documented within guidelines set by supervisor Collaborate with the team to ensure project deadlines and documentation standards are met. Take ownership and responsibility for own work Ensure tasks are completed to program Consult directly with Engineers Training of more junior staff Communicate with clients, suppliers and other offices Prepare and produce Issue Slips Assist with quantity measurements KEY CHALLENGES Capability and desire to learn Working with project guidelines and standards Complete quality models drawings and documents within a required timeframe Working on international projects with client-specific delivery requirements KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS Accuracy of modelling and quality of drawings Ability to work independently and in a team environment RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE National Diploma (Civil Engineering or equivalent) preferred but not mandatory 5 years min modelling and production experience. Must have structural experience Experience in the use of Autodesk software, with specific focus on Revit and other relevant software Understand the use and importance of standards in the application of software tools Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within project teams. Experience with or knowledge of Rhino, Grasshopper and other productivity plug-ins is advantageous.
