About the Financial Planning Institute (FPI) The Financial Planning Institute of Southern Africa (FPI) is a SAQA-recognised professional body dedicated to advancing and upholding the standards of financial planning in South Africa. As the only organisation in Southern Africa authorised to award the globally recognised Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation and as an affiliate of the Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB), we are a mission‑driven, values‑led organisation committed to societal well‑being through professional excellence. We value accountability, ethical conduct and a culture of innovation and service. Role Description This is a full‑time hybrid role for an IT Manager based in Johannesburg, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. This is not a conventional IT management position. FPI is looking for a technically capable architect and builder who combines governance rigour with the depth to design, develop and maintain automation and enterprise application solutions directly. You will own FPI's Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem, serve as the governance lead for Dynamics 365, drive data governance and cybersecurity oversight, manage vendor relationships, and lead digital transformation across the organisation. You will work at the intersection of technology, operations and strategy. The expectation is hands‑on build capability, not just oversight. Candidates who have only managed Power Platform teams without direct development experience will not meet the requirements of this role. Key Focus Areas Business Process Automation and Digital Transformation (30%) Lead the design and hands‑on build of automation solutions using Microsoft Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI and Copilot Studio. Serve as FPI's Power Platform architect with direct build capability across flows, connectors, integrations, dashboards and automated business processes. Govern the Dynamics 365 ecosystem including configuration oversight, workflow alignment, integration governance and reporting enablement. Drive enterprise reporting and analytics to support management decision‑making. Develop and maintain system enhancements independently, reducing reliance on external vendors where feasible. IT Risk Management and Cybersecurity Oversight (20%) Develop and maintain FPI's IT risk management framework. Maintain accountability for cybersecurity governance, security assurance and continuous improvement of FPI's Microsoft security posture. Oversee business continuity and disaster recovery planning. Coordinate and chair the IT Steering Committee in collaboration with the COO. Service Agreements and Project Management (15%) Manage IT supplier relationships, enforce SLAs, develop RFPs and evaluate technical proposals. Negotiate and manage supplier contracts within FPI's delegation of authority framework. Lead IT projects using Agile, Waterfall or Hybrid methodologies. IT Tactical Management (12%) Develop and enforce IT governance policies and operational frameworks aligned to King Codes, ISO 27001, COBIT, POPIA and applicable governance standards. Ensure alignment of IT operations with business goals and support the COO in maintaining governance structures at an operational level. Actively participate in FPI's Enterprise Risk Management Committee and support operational implementation of enterprise risk management initiatives in collaboration with the Governance, Compliance and Risk function. People Management (8%) and Budget Management (5%) Lead and develop the IT team, define and manage performance objectives, and oversee the IT operational budget and vendor expenditure. What We're Looking For Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT Management, Information Systems or a related field. Working knowledge of POPIA and its application to data handling, processing and systems integration. Familiarity with IT governance frameworks including COBIT, ITIL, ISO 27001 or NIST. Preferred / Advantageous Microsoft certifications in Dynamics 365 and Power Platform. Project management certification (PMP or PRINCE2). Knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF. Knowledge of security and risk management standards including ISO 31000 and NIST. Experience Requirements At least 5 years' IT management experience, with a minimum of 3 years' hands‑on build experience on Microsoft Power Platform including Power Automate, Power Apps and Power BI. Demonstrated experience governing, configuring and optimising Microsoft Dynamics 365, including workflow alignment and business enablement. Proven experience in data management including data onboarding, architecture, master data management, data integrity controls and systems integration governance. Experience managing IT vendors, developing RFPs, enforcing SLAs and evaluating technical proposals. Exposure to IT risk management, cybersecurity governance and business continuity planning. Why Join FPI Be part of a respected professional body shaping the standards of financial planning in South Africa. Work in a values‑driven organisation where integrity, professionalism and diligence are daily practice. Enjoy meaningful scope to architect, build and govern IT systems end‑to‑end, not just maintain them. Remuneration and Benefits R60 000 - R75 000 CTC per month, commensurate with qualifications and experience. 15% employer contribution to the Provident Fund. Fixed company contribution toward employee medical aid. Hybrid working arrangement, professional development support and membership of a values‑driven, collaborative culture. How to Apply If you are a hands‑on IT leader who combines build depth with governance discipline and you want to make a measurable difference in a purpose‑driven organisation, we’d like to hear from you. Submit your CV and a short motivation highlighting: Your hands‑on Power Platform build experience and the solutions you have developed and maintained directly. Your approach to IT governance, data management and cybersecurity in a compliance‑sensitive environment. How you have managed vendors and driven digital transformation in a lean, agile team. #J-18808-Ljbffr
