Cementation Africa invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Construction Man with (Trade/BCert) to be placed in Swartklip, Spud Shaft near Northam, Limpopo. The successful candidate will report to the Shift Supervisor Grout Plant. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents. The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to: Effective and efficient supervision of the mining construction crew to achieve production targets Plan, schedule and control activities to ensure availability of resources, materials and equipment Effective management of materials, consumables and explosives Participate in waiting place / pre-shift meetings and ensure parameters relating to quality, quantity, cost and safety are understood Compliance with SHEQ, Cementation Africa and client standards, policies, procedures and safety protocols Proactive risk identification and mitigation in compliance with DMR, Cementation Africa and Client’s safety requirement Comply with lock out system required on machinery and equipment Safe installations and construction of pump stations, dam wall, piping and valves Competent, motivated, disciplined and positive team Effective self and team supervision in alignment with Cementation Africa values and leadership initiatives Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills Grade 12 or equivalent (NQF4) Licence to Supervise or equivalent supervisory qualification Operating license for underground equipment Proficient in Microsoft Planning and organising skills Ability to perform risk assessments proficiently Good English written and verbal communication skills Suitable candidates must have the following work experience At least 4 years of experience in underground mining and construction /in relevant trade( select as required….heavy steel erection, underground construction ,re-enforcing and form work Knowledge of all construction work such as pipe installations, rail construction and concrete Experience transporting and operating machinery in an underground mining environment Experience supervising a team All appointments will be done in line with our employment equity strategy.
