Electrical Technician job vacancy in Middelburg. Duties and Responsibilities: Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on solar PV systems, including rooftop, ground-mounted, and single-axis tracker installations. Conduct electrical testing and diagnostics such as string testing, insulation resistance, and thermal imaging. Identify, diagnose, and repair inverter, DC, and AC system faults to minimise downtime. Troubleshoot electrical systems using schematics, single-line diagrams, and site layouts. Ensure optimal performance and reliability of solar installations through ongoing system maintenance. Manage and transport tools, equipment, and replacement parts to site locations. Maintain accurate stock control of O&M equipment and spare parts. Compile detailed maintenance, fault, and site visit reports. Maintain clean and organised work environments, including company vehicle and work sites. Ensure compliance with health, safety regulations, and OHS Act requirements. Identify and report potential safety risks on operational sites. Requirements: Qualified Electrical Trade Test (Red Seal). Valid driver’s license. Three-phase Wireman’s License (highly beneficial). Minimum 3 years’ electrical experience (solar PV or industrial maintenance preferred). Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, including inverters, DC/AC systems, and mounting structures. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and single-line diagrams. Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills. Basic IT and networking knowledge (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, LAN setup). Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and reporting ability. Good communication skills for technical reporting and site coordination. No criminal record.
