Duties and Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical equipment and systems for beneficiation plants, including crushing, screening, conveying, and separation applications Produce detailed plant layouts to optimise material flow, equipment placement, and operational efficiency Design welded structural components such as chutes, supports, platforms, housings, and equipment frames Generate detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor in collaboration with the drawing office Perform engineering calculations, design verifications, and strength assessments to ensure compliance with specifications Support process engineers during test work to validate designs and optimise equipment performance Provide technical support during on-site installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities Assist with ongoing product support, resolving equipment performance issues and proposing technical solutions Contribute to product development initiatives, including improving existing equipment and developing new solutions Prepare and maintain technical documentation including specifications, bills of materials, and assembly information Ensure all designs comply with applicable safety, environmental, and engineering standards Experience and Qualifications BEng Mechanical or Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering Minimum of 4 years experience in mechanical design within beneficiation plants, bulk materials handling, or a closely related industrial environment Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor Solid understanding of bulk materials handling systems and plant design principles Proven experience in weldment design and structural detailing Working knowledge of beneficiation processes including crushing, screening, conveying, and material separation Experience supporting commissioning and site-based troubleshooting activities Strong problem-solving ability with sound engineering judgement Clear technical communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
