My client based in Cape Town is currently looking for an Azure Cloud Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. IT / FINANCE Qualifications & Experience Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Relevant cloud certifications (Microsoft Azure certifications preferred) 3+ years' experience in Azure cloud development and management Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services (e.g., Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Networking) Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as ARM templates and/or Terraform Proven experience in scripting using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages Solid understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines Good knowledge of cloud security best practices Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for automated provisioning and management of cloud resources Write and maintain scripts to support automation, deployment, and operational efficiency Monitor, optimise, and manage cloud infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency Collaborate with DevOps and Security teams to ensure secure and scalable cloud architecture Troubleshoot and resolve Azure infrastructure and service-related issues Ensure adherence to cloud governance, security, and architectural best practices Competencies Microsoft Azure Services (Compute, Storage, Networking, etc.) Cloud Architecture Design Infrastructure as Code (ARM Templates, Terraform) Scripting (PowerShell, Python or similar) DevOps & CI/CD pipeline understanding Cloud Infrastructure Management Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking High attention to detail Ability to work in cross-functional teams (DevOps, Security, Architecture) Strong communication and collaboration skills Proactive and solution-driven mindset Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment If you are ready for the next exciting step in your career, and would like to apply, please send us your updated CV to review.
