Position: Financial Accountant (ID: FASWD) To provide day-to-day accounting and financial administration support to the SOILL finance department through accurate processing, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance activities. The role supports effective financial control, cashflow management, statutory compliance, payroll administration, and month-end processes within the manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Cashflow Management Monitor and maintain daily cashflow requirements. Process and update daily cashflow reports and forecasts. Prepare and load payment instructions onto banking platforms. Assist with monitoring cash balances and funding requirements. Provide daily and weekly cashflow reporting to management. VAT and Tax Administration Assist with preparation and submission of VAT returns. Support income tax monitoring and related administrative processes. Assist with resolving SARS queries and audit requests. Maintain accurate tax supporting documentation and schedules. Annual Audit Support Assist with preparation of audit schedules and supporting documents. Coordinate information required during the annual external audit. Liaise with auditors regarding requested information and reconciliations. Financial Controls and Compliance Assist with implementation and maintenance of financial controls and procedures. Identify weaknesses or inconsistencies in finance processes and controls. Ensure compliance with company policies and financial procedures. Raise Non-Conformances (NCs) where required for investigation and corrective action. Payroll Administration Support Assist with payroll administration processes. Review weekly wages files for completeness and accuracy. Provide ad hoc payroll support where required. Assist with payroll reconciliations and related queries. Accounting and Reconciliations Assist with maintenance and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts. Process month-end and year-end journals. Prepare and reconcile general ledger accounts. Perform bank, supplier, and intercompany reconciliations. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records. Reporting Prepare routine monthly financial and operational reports. Investigate and highlight variances to management. Assist with preparation of management reporting schedules. Complete and submit STATSSA returns within required deadlines. Exposure to: reconciliations journals VAT administration payroll support cashbook/cashflow processing Health and Safety Participate in safety forums created by Soill for example safety meetings and safety talks Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meetings / committees / representatives / management Report all safety incidents to the relevant people Attend safety education and refresher programmes Comply with safety policies and procedures at Soill Distribute safety information as and when required Wear protective clothing (where applicable) at all times Requirements Minimum Qualification and Experience: BCom / Accounting degree or equivalent. 2 to 4 years’ post qualification experience in general accounting Advantageous Experience with manufacturing, stock and costing processes. Exposure to ISO or internal control environments. Experience dealing with SARS submissions and queries. Knowledge, Skills and Attributes: Technical Skills Good understanding of accounting principles. Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Experience with accounting or ERP systems. Strong reconciliation and processing skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Good organisational and time management skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong problem-solving and analytical ability. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
