Position Assistant Manager Nursing (PNA7) General – Department of Health Responsibilities Monitor and evaluate nursing service delivery, ensuring clinical practice aligns with scope of practice and nursing standards at the facility. Evaluate national core standards and develop and implement a quality improvement plan where gaps are identified. Work effectively and amicably at the management level with a diverse team, managing your own work and that of units reporting to the post to enhance nursing services. Display concern for patients, promote, advocate for and facilitate proper treatment and care, ensuring adherence to Batho Pele principles. Demonstrate basic understanding of Human Resources and Financial Management, and manage resources (human and material) efficiently. Maintain basic computer skills and demonstrate a basic understanding of the legislative framework governing the public service. Identify and develop policies relating to all clinical units, resolve patient care related challenges, manage conflicts, and address related issues. Qualifications Basic R425 qualification (an appropriate bachelor’s degree/Diploma in nursing or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council). Minimum eight (8) years of appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a professional nurse with SANC. Qualification in Health Service Management, Nursing Administration or Management, with at least three (3) years of recognised management experience within that period. Proven sound managerial skills, computer literacy, and knowledge of financial management. Good verbal and written communication skills. Current proof of registration with SANC, including service records. Willingness to work under pressure and beyond a call of duty.
