Bokpoort CSP is a concentrated solar power thermal energy power plant, located near Groblershoop in the Northern Cape province of South Africa. The project was procured pursuant to the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme initiated by the South African Department of Energy. Scope of Word To carry out maintenance, installation, overhaul, and modification activities on electrical machinery and equipment in line with maintenance procedures, HSE guidelines, and quality standards to ensure optimal performance, functionality, and reliability. Key Responsibilities To provide inspections and repair services within and around the plant. To maintain and improve on existing discipline status of the plant Good electrical engineering foundation and practical knowledge of how it applies to modern power plant and desalination plant processes. Performs routine electrical corrective and preventive maintenance of plant equipment’s as per the direction of electrical maintenance supervisor. Practical experience of maintaining a wide range of electrical equipment gained through hands on experience and formal training. Capable of reading and interpreting electrical schematics, drawings, and troubleshoot problems of control circuits. Capable of ensuring a safe working environment for himself and his colleagues while working on any equipment, considering relevant HSE rules and regulations. Ability to carry out maintenance activities on a range of major electrical components and systems in accordance with OEM Manuals for the equipment. Including Siemens MV Drive NXGII, Power Electronics MV Drive SD700, 6.6kV MV DOL Motors, ABB, SEL Protection relay. Performs troubleshooting activities as necessary to determine failure conditions and rectifies the defects found. Works with Plant Operations Personnel for resolving problems encountered with electrical equipment under the guidance of the Electrical Supervisor. Practical knowledge of plant isolations from system, and the PTW system. (ORHVS) Check the necessary stock levels of spare parts to support effective inventory control. Required to work overtime when needed Required Skills and Competencies Awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental Management system principles. Good knowledge of applicable legal requirements. Self-motivated, safety and production orientated, Ability to work in a team, and under pressure and without supervision Must be willing to be on standby and call-out. Discipline equipment knowledge Minimum Requirements National Diploma in Electrical Maintenance and/or N3 Trade Tested as Electrician or equivalent 5 years’ experience in electrical maintenance as a technician in installation, Valid driver’s license advantageous. #J-18808-Ljbffr
