As the Sewing Line Supervisor, you will oversee all operations on the sewing line, ensuring materials are processed accurately and efficiently. You will be responsible for meeting production schedules, maintaining high-quality standards, and providing real-time feedback to the planning department to ensure a seamless workflow. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the sewing team and the full upholstery production line to meet output targets. Assign tasks and manage team performance to ensure high levels of efficiency and accountability. Manage material availability, including fabric, thread, and patterns, to prevent any production downtime. Enforce strict adherence to quality standards to minimize material waste and rework. Conduct in-process and visual inspections of sewn products to ensure compliance with design specifications. Coordinate with Cutting, Upholstery, and Planning teams to maintain smooth inter-departmental workflows. Provide accurate hourly production updates to the planning department. Manage the urgent completion of repairs within a 23 hour window on the same day. Monitor staff attendance, timekeeping, and work area absence to maintain consistent productivity. Enforce health and safety regulations, including the correct usage of PPE and safe machine operation. Requirements : Matric certificate. A minimum of 3 years experience working within a sewing department. Deep knowledge of sewing techniques and upholstery production processes. A strong understanding of production line management and workflow optimization. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Previous supervisory experience is highly advantageous .
