Job Title: HR Specialist Location: South Africa, Johannesburg Department: Human Resources of Factory Site Role Purpose The HR Specialist will support the end-to-end employee lifecycle and ensure HR operations are aligned with South African labour legislation and company policies. The role focuses on recruitment for sales company and local factory workers, employee relations, compliance, HR administration, and employee engagement. Key Responsibilities 1. Recruitment & Onboarding Manage the full recruitment cycle: job postings, screening, interviewing, offer management and onboarding. Coordinate background checks and reference verification. Ensure a smooth onboarding experience and completion of probation processes. 2. HR Administration & HRIS Maintain accurate employee records, HR databases and personnel files. Prepare employment contracts, letters, and HR documentation. Track leave, attendance, and employee lifecycle changes. Generate HR reports and dashboards. 3. Employee Relations Act as first point of contact for employee HR queries. Support disciplinary processes, grievance handling and investigations. Promote positive employee engagement and workplace culture. Assist with performance management cycles. 4. Compensation & Benefits Support Support payroll inputs and monthly payroll coordination. Administer employee benefits (medical aid, pension/provident fund, insurance). Assist in salary benchmarking and merit increase processes. 5. Compliance & Labour Law Ensure compliance with South African labour legislation including: Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA) Labour Relations Act (LRA) Employment Equity Act (EEA) Support employment equity reporting and audits. Maintain HR policies and procedures. 6. Learning & Development Coordinate training programs and skills development initiatives. Maintain training records and support skills reporting. Assist with performance and development planning. 7. HR Projects & Engagement Support HR initiatives related to wellbeing, engagement and culture. Participate in HR improvement projects and process enhancements. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources / Industrial Psychology / Business Administration. 3–5 years’ HR experience in a generalist or specialist role. Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation. Experience with HRIS and MS Office. South African ID.
