Overview Senior / Principal Statistical Programmer (Clinical SAS Programmer), South Africa. The role involves technical leadership in statistical programming for clinical trials, providing expert support and advising internal and external sponsors, and ensuring quality, timelines, and budgeting considerations are maintained. Responsibilities Provide technical expertise for the conduct of clinical trials; act as an internal subject matter expert in specific areas; support diverse programming activities related to analysis and reporting of clinical study data. Fill the Statistical Programming Lead role on projects; liaise with sponsors, Biostatistics Leads, Data Management Leads, and other functions as required. Monitor quality, timelines, resource allocation, and productivity in relation to budgets. Deliver technical support and expert advice to internal and external sponsors; work independently to support programming activities related to analysis and reporting of clinical study data. Knowledge And Experience Required Proven track record of successfully leading teams in a statistical programming environment with strong Clinical / SAS Programming experience (minimum 3.5 years for Senior level; 5+ years with Lead Programming experience for Principal level). Competent in written and oral English; excellent communication skills. Skills Required Excellent analytical skills and advanced knowledge of SAS programming techniques. Extensive knowledge of the programming and reporting process; strong understanding of SOPs/Guidelines, ICH-GCP, and applicable local and international regulations (e.g., 21 CFR Part 11). Knowledge of efficacy endpoints and analysis techniques for relevant diseases. Ability to learn new systems and adapt in an evolving technical environment; strong project management and organizational skills; ability to manage competing priorities. Attention to detail; ability to lead and mentor a global team; work effectively in a quality-focused environment; strong time management to meet daily metrics or team objectives.
