Job Description Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Attorney with strong expertise in transactional corporate and commercial law. The successful candidate will join a focused advisory team dealing exclusively with high-level commercial and corporate transactions. This is a strictly non-litigious role, focused entirely on corporate and commercial advisory and transactional work. You will be responsible for: Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial agreements Structuring and executing corporate and commercial transactions Advising on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and related deal work Supporting corporate structuring and restructuring matters Preparing shareholder agreements, MOIs and joint venture agreements Conducting due diligence and related transactional support work Qualifications LLB (Bachelor of Laws) Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa Postgraduate commercial or corporate law exposure (advantageous) Skills The successful candidate will have: Minimum 6+ years post-admission experience in commercial law Strong experience in independently drafting and negotiating commercial agreements Solid exposure to M&A transactions (advantageous) Experience in corporate structuring and restructuring Knowledge of shareholder agreements, MOIs, and joint ventures Non-litigation / pure commercial background preferred Exposure to tax and/or financial principles advantageous Strong drafting ability with excellent attention to detail Ability to work independently on complex transactions Fluency in Afrikaans
