PROJECT MANAGER: INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT Nature of contract: 3 years Fixed Term Contract (Council Appointment). Salary: R420,075 per annum (Salary Level 09) plus 37% paid in lieu of benefits. Appropriate 3 years Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma (NQF level 6/7) or equivalent qualification specializing in Construction. At least 3 years’ experience in managing construction projects. A valid driver’s license. Conceptual understanding of the rules and standards governing project administration and management; capacity to articulate requirements for each project. Risk management experience in project management. Good written and spoken communication skills. Proficiency in analysing and solving project-related problems. Strong human‑relations skills and teamwork ability. Attention to detail and strong organisational skills. Knowledge and expertise in using modern information and communication technologies for projects. Knowledge of procurement processes. Postgraduate qualification an added advantage. Registration with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) – proof required. Duties Supervise tasks in completing construction or repairs and maintenance projects. Manage flow of information from the project supervisor to the team within the Department of Higher Education and Training. Arrange for project documentation per Department specifications and ensure compliance with higher standards. Maintain project management tools and update project information. Arrange for project completion based on project owner specifications. Assemble a proficient team to achieve project objectives under changing circumstances using leadership and management expertise. Plan, commence, execute, supervise and close assigned projects. Ensure adherence to project specifications and regulatory guidelines (e.g., NIAMMS).
