Our client, a leading firm in the Financial Services environment, is seeking a Technical Specialist Product to join their Technical Adviser Support team in Cape Town. This Mid-Senior role is responsible for ensuring the competitiveness of the product suite and serving as the primary subject matter expert on technical product and advice matters. This is a high-impact role requiring deep technical expertise, senior-level engagement, and proven management abilities. Key Responsibilities: Technical Advisory & Product Strategy Adviser Support: Provide ongoing proactive and reactive technical advisory support to a large national network of advisers and distribution teams on complex advice-related matters. Product Expertise: Act as the subject matter expert on technical product and advice matters, including participation in relevant technical/distribution committees. Product Competitiveness: Work closely with product providers to ensure the product suite remains competitive Due Diligence: Collaborate with cross-divisional teams on product and product provider due diligence, in conjunction with risk and finance teams Leadership & Management Large Case Review: Serve as the subject matter expert and manager of the large case review process, including presenting findings to senior management for approval. Process Improvement: On an ongoing basis, evaluate, review, and improve the large case process. Team Leadership: Facilitate technical training for junior staff and ensure the effective management of direct reports. Content & Marketing: Draft, review, and sign-off communication and content for marketing and technical purposes (e.g., Take Notes, articles) in relation to advice and distribution activities. Minimum Requirements: Experience: A minimum of 7 years’ experience in wealth and investment products. Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of financial planning and experience engaging at an EXCO/Senior Management level . Education: A Degree in Financial Management / Financial Planning or a related field. Designation (Advantageous): Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning. Skills: Proven ability to identify, assess, and solve problems.
