Introduction This is a commercially focused finance role for an experienced accountant who thrives in a hands-on retail environment. You’ll be deeply involved in the day-to-day financial operations, working closely with store managers and operational teams to ensure accurate reporting, strong controls, and smarter processes across the business. We’re looking for someone detail-oriented yet commercially minded — an accountant who understands the realities of retail, questions inefficient processes, and embraces technology, including AI and automation, to improve the way finance operates. This is a mid-level finance role with real scope to grow, one for an ambitious accountant who is ready to step beyond pure technical delivery and take ownership of a team, a set of systems, and a broader business partnership. You’ll lead a small finance team, work closely with store and operational managers, and drive the kind of process and systems improvements that make a meaningful difference to how the business runs. The accounting fundamentals matter, but what sets this role apart is the expectation that you’ll think and act like a business partner, not just a reporter of numbers. Crucially, we want someone who is genuinely curious, someone who constantly asks “why are we still doing it this way?” and isn’t afraid to explore technology, including AI, to eliminate tedious manual work and free the team up for higher-value thinking. Duties & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Financial reporting cycle : Prepare monthly management accounts, budgeting, and forecasting Cash flow & working capital : Monitor cash flow, stock, debtors, creditors, and financial controls Compliance : Ensure adherence to tax, statutory, and audit requirements Systems & process improvements : Drive efficiencies across ERP systems (SAP & CISTECH) Automation opportunities : Identify and implement technology-driven improvements Operational support : Partner with store and operations teams to support decision-making Desired Experience & Qualification Requirements Degree in Accounting/Finance 3–5 years’ relevant accounting experience in a commercial retail or multi-site environment Strong understanding of South African tax and statutory compliance ERP experience (SAP advantageous) and advanced Excel skills Improvement-oriented mindset with interest in AI and automation Hands-on approach with proven ability to work closely with operational teams Package & Remuneration What We Offer R40,000 – R50,000 CTC per month Company medical aid contribution Performance-based incentives Strong long-term growth opportunities #J-18808-Ljbffr
