Can you keep multiple commercial and retail sites running properly, without needing constant hand-holding? A well-established property group is looking for a multi-site Commercial Operations Manager to join its Cape Town office. This is a hands-on operational role, suited to someone who understands the day-to-day realities of managing commercial and retail assets, while still being able to think commercially and manage stakeholders properly. The successful candidate will be responsible for a portfolio of sites, covering a mix of commercial and retail property. The role will involve overseeing daily operations, managing service providers, ensuring buildings are well maintained, dealing with tenant and landlord matters, monitoring operational budgets, driving compliance, and making sure each site performs as it should. This is not a single-centre role. It will suit someone who is comfortable moving between properties, prioritising issues, holding contractors accountable, and giving management clear visibility on what is happening across the portfolio. Strong communication skills, practical property knowledge and the ability to deal confidently with tenants, suppliers, internal teams and senior stakeholders will be essential. The ideal candidate will have solid commercial property operations experience, ideally across more than one asset or site. Exposure to both commercial and retail environments would be highly beneficial, as would a strong understanding of facilities management, tenant engagement, building services, compliance, budgeting and service provider management.
