About the Opportunity A well-established and growing organisation is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join its Finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys taking ownership of financial reporting, month-end processes, inventory accounting, and financial controls while contributing to strategic business decisions. The successful candidate will work closely with management and cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Analysis Prepare monthly management accounts, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports. Analyse financial results, trends, and key performance indicators. Provide meaningful financial insights to support business decision-making. Month-End & Year-End Processes Lead month-end and year-end close activities. Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes. Support internal and external audit requirements. General Ledger & Financial Controls Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal control procedures. Payments & Supplier Management Prepare and process payment batches and electronic payments. Manage supplier payment schedules and resolve payment-related queries. Perform monthly supplier reconciliations. Inventory & Stock Accounting Oversee the accurate recording of stock receipts. Reconcile stock receipts against purchase orders and supplier documentation. Support inventory valuation processes and stock control initiatives. Work closely with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure financial accuracy. Collaboration Partner with Finance, Procurement, and Operations teams to improve financial processes. Participate in projects focused on process improvement and operational efficiency. Minimum Requirements Qualifications Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) Experience CA(SA): 13 years post-articles experience; OR CIMA: 23 years relevant experience; OR BCom Honours (Accounting): 35 years relevant experience Technical Skills Advanced Microsoft Excel Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Experience with Pastel or similar accounting systems Solid understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and inventory accounting Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving ability Exceptional attention to detail Excellent organisational and planning skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Ability to work under pressure Self-motivated with a proactive approach Additional Requirements Valid driver's licence Willingness to work overtime when required If you are a results-driven finance professional looking to contribute to a dynamic and high-performing environment, we invite you to apply.
